L’Ossa d’Encamp, Petjades Enlairades: the great bear of Solanelles at 2,502 metres

Some places deserve to be discovered, and others leave a mark on you. At 2,502 metres above sea level, in the Solanelles area, the arrival of the Funicamp opens onto one of the most spectacular landscapes in Encamp and onto Petjades Enlairades (Raised Paw Prints), a large-format sculpture inspired by the she-bear, one of the most representative symbols of the parish’s identity.

With the mountains as a backdrop, the great bear welcomes you to the high mountains and invites you to stop, take in the scenery and see Encamp from above. It is a place to enjoy the views, take a photo and start a new adventure among peaks and mountain paths.
What to do around the Ossa of Solanelles
Family route «Les petjades de l’Ossa» (summer season). The route starts at the base of the Funicamp, where you receive the adventure passport and take on the first challenges before going up. You then continue to the intermediate station of the cortals, then on to the Solanelles platform and the Ossa sculpture, where the game ends.
20 signposted landmark spots. The Ossa d’Encamp also lets you discover 20 natural spots, each with its identifying sign, along the hiking routes.
How to get there
By Funicamp. Getting there is part of the experience. Take the Funicamp and let the scenery travel with you to Solanelles in about 25 minutes.
On foot. Several paths link the Cortals d’Encamp valley with Solanelles. One option is the route from the Funicamp intermediate station to Solanelles and the Pic Alt del Cubil, a demanding itinerary meant for hikers with high mountain experience.
By bike. Another way is to ride up on the mountain bike routes in the Encamp mountains, which lead to Solanelles.
Skiing. The sculpture stands in the middle of the Grandvalira ski slopes, in the Encamp sector. Stop by during your ski day and photograph the Ossa surrounded by snow.
